About Pete Campbell
A direct student of Ohashi Yukio, the 15th sōke of Mukushin-ryū, for 23 years until his unexpected passing in 2023, Campbell Sensei holds the rank of Okuden in Mukushin-ryū Bujutsu. After Ohashi Sensei’s passing, the Ohashi family appointed Campbell Sensei as Kanchō, the technical and administrative head of Mukushin-ryū.
In 2007, Campbell Sensei was given the name "Seishin" (sincere heart) by Ohashi Sensei in recognition of his sincere dedication to the preservation and transmission of Mukushin-ryū. Campbell Sensei believes that to truly understand any martial art—especially a koryū (ancient style)—one must look beyond the techniques and principles of the art itself and into the culture and spirit in which it was originally created.
Campbell Sensei also holds a 3rd dan in Shotokan Karate and serves as Dōjō-chō (administrator).
